On November 8, more than 350 students from across Minnesota will attend the first ever Hospitality Career Student Expo at the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest. Over the course of the day, participants attend workshops and interact with industry professionals eager to share information about their companies and stories about their own hospitality career trajectory.
The day’s activities include:
- Career Exploration Pavilion – students will have the chance to connect with hospitality companies and colleges.
- Job Readiness Center – quick learning sessions on mastering interviews, making a good first impression, developing soft skills and using social media.
- Culinary Demo – hands-on sessions with mentor chefs.
- Venue Tour – a behind-the-scenes look at hotel operations.
As we work to raise the visibility of careers in hospitality, opportunities to interact with industry professionals and ask questions about what their work is like are crucial to attracting and retaining the next generation of leaders. Member organizations, both operators and allied businesses, are welcomed and encouraged to register to exhibit and share their hospitality story with students.
